Anthony Elanga easily sets the next Manchester United goal after his Swedish debut
Anthony Elanga has set a simple next goal for Manchester United after making his debut for Sweden on Thursday night. The 19-year-old entered the battle in Stockholm for the last five minutes of a hugely important World Cup victory over the Czech Republic.
Sweden and Elanga now go on to Poland and what is a straight penalty to reach the final 2022 in Qatar. The youngster’s latest achievement comes after a breakthrough season at Old Trafford.
Although it was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who gave Elanga a first senior appearance for United last season, playing time has become more regular since Ralf Rangnick stepped into the breakthrough. That confidence has resulted in eight goals from 20 matches in all competitions for academy graduates.

Elanga told me United’s official website media: “Many players are consistent and that’s something I also want to be. [I want to be] consistently and always be disciplined, make sure I quit my job and when I get the opportunity in the game, take it. ”
On the way to the first team, he added: “During the academy days, you would get an opportunity to train with the first team and see how it is, see the intensity. When you are a young boy, it is important to do it because then you can go back to the academy, do what you have learned from the first team and put it into practice.
“That’s why I feel comfortable [on the pitch] because I get ones like Bruno [Fernandes] talk to me every day and on the pitch, which helps calm me down and be relaxed when I have the ball. “
