We help those fleeing the war: Il Tirreno and Confcommercio team up. Here’s what and where you can donate
PISA. Pisa and Livorno united to concretely help those fleeing the war in Ukraine. This is the meaning of a great humanitarian initiative promoted by Confcommercio Provincia di Pisa and Confcommercio Livorno together with The Tyrrhenian Seaopen to all those who want to dare a hand and open their hearts to those who no longer have anything.
Thus was born “Molto con poco”, a collection of basic necessities, but also of funds that thanks to the collaboration provided by the voluntary associations of the area: Misericordia di Pisa, Misericordia di Livorno, Pubblica Assistance of Pisa, Svs Pubblica Assistance of Livorno . Red Cross of Pisa and Livorno and Caritas of Livorno, donated to refugees in Romania and Poland and to Ukrainians who are in difficulty on ours will be refugees (they were and from Livorno), even the families hosting the refugees; among them are many small children and lonely women fleeing an endless horror.
Confcommercio e The Tyrrhenian Sea they have set in motion a solidarity machine that will be operational until 18 April. We can all do our part by donating something. The title of the collection already speaks volumes: “Much with little”, but together we can do a lot.
The initiative was presented at the Confcommercio Provincia di Pisa headquarters. Instead, the president spoke of solidarity Francesca Marcucci. «The companies in our area – said Marcucci – in addition to doing business which is our central focus, they also wanted to settle in at the disposal of a population, which after the sudden years of the pandemic, suffered a war. So our message is to also think of someone else who is certainly worse off than us at this moment and dare something to help ».
Also Paolo Pesciatini he focused on the value of the gift. “An initiative – said the Pisan commissioner – that goes beyond parochialism and that sees Pisa and Livorno together to bring about a just cause”.
The project was made operational in just four days. “The hope – explained Marcacci – is that we can collect so much to give to those who have lost everything and are experiencing an unimaginable tragedy”. Participating is simple: it is enough to open our hearts and offer something concrete from food to material, up to cash contributions, because it is really true that union makes health care.

“Molto con poco” is a large collection to help those fleeing the war in Ukraine, open to all, until April 18, with a precise list of items to donate. Material: suture and treatment kit, sterile disposable scalpels, instant ice, hydrogen peroxide, disinfectants, iodine, sanitary infusions, drips, venous catheters, wide patches, wide gauze, Coban, bandages (cohesive, edged, elastic, ocular, all ‘ zinc oxide), emergency bandage, Betadine gauzes, Betadine bottles, 5ml / 10ml / 20ml syringes and Metalline. Foods: powdered milk, baby food, biscuits, corn flour, sugar, pasta, rice, legumes, milk, tomatoes, cans of tuna and meat. Hygiene: soap, toothpaste, sanitary napkins, baby diapers, toilet paper, disinfectants, plasters and household cleaning products. In addition to sleeping bags, heavy blankets and dog and cat food.
