Norway imposes even more sanctions on Russia
– It is important to keep the pressure on Putin and those who earn the most and support his regime. Now the EU’s latest sanctions package has also been introduced into Norwegian law. We are introducing sanctions together with the EU and other countries to ensure that the measures are strong and effective, says Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt (Labor) in a press release.
The new sanctions include the measures that the EU adopted on 15 March, and are in addition to the comprehensive package of sanctions that was introduced in Norwegian law on 18 March.
The sanctions include a ban on transactions with 12 Russian state-owned companies, trade restrictions, a ban on exports of more luxury goods and a ban on new investments in Russian energy.
