New airlines – Condor returns after years
Two new airlines and one well-known airline will be based at Cologne/Bonn Airport in the future. These expand the offer at the airport – and also head for new destinations.
Cologne – Good news for all schoolchildren, but also for many adults in North Rhine-Westphalia: The Easter holidays start on April 6, 2022 – hence the Cologne/Bonn Airport in the coming weeks and of course also in the summer months with a significant increase in passenger numbers calculates. According to the airport itself, there could be around 450,000 passengers in the Easter holidays alone. Which is why the airport is relying on new airlines in the coming weeks and also in summer (summer flight schedule valid from March 27) in order to encourage the people of Cologne to travel from the cathedral city out into the wide world. The following airlines will be added to Cologne/Bonn Airport in the coming months.
Cologne/Bonn Airport: These airlines will be new at the airport in the future
- SmartLynx Airlines (from April 13)
- condor (from May 14th)
- Air Serbia (starting in summer)
The Latvian airline “SmartLynx Airlines” will fly regularly to Hurghada (Egypt) from April 13, the airline “Air Serbia”, which will be added from summer, will fly to the Serbian city of Nis every Thursday and Saturday during the warm months. And Cologne/Bonn returnee Condor is also expanding the range of flights at NRW Airport: “From May 14th, Condor will fly daily to Palma de Mallorca (Spain), from May 15th on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays to Heraklion (Greece)”, explains the airport itself. The airline had already announced in February that it would also fly from Frankfurt to Tbilisi (Georgia) in the future.

But some new destinations will also be served in the coming weeks and months. Among other things, Monastir in Tunisia and Stockholm (Sweden) are new on the map of destinations. The following cities and metropolises will be served when Cologne/Bonn Airport changes over to the summer timetable (March 27).

- Monastir (Tunisia): Nouvelair Tunisie
- Porto (Portugal): EasyJet
- Palma de Mallorca (Spain): EasyJet
- In addition, there are new cruise feeder flights for TUI Cruises, AIDA and MSC Cruises, the airport explains.
Cologne/Bonn Airport is looking forward to numbers like before Corona – “The desire to travel is clearly noticeable”
“We are very happy that things are finally getting started again. The desire to travel can be clearly felt after two years of hardship.
