The meetings of Christos Metios in Athens are important issues on the agenda
The Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Mr. Christos Metios, raised important issues during his meetings in Athens.
Initially, Mr. Metios had a meeting with the Minister of Citizen Protection Mr. Takis Theodorikakos, with whom they discussed issues related to the safety of citizens and the concerns of the local community for the projects being built at the Orestiada Outpost.
The Minister told Mr. Metios that the latest data of ELAS show a significant reduction of crime rates in the AMTH Region, while he assured him once again that there is no question of increasing the capacity of PROKEKA in Orestiada over 375 people.
Regarding the process of recruiting 400 border guards in the area, it is in its final phase. Afterwards, Mr. Metios had meetings with the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Mr. George Georgantas, and the Deputy Minister, Mr. George Stylios.
They discussed the visits that will take place in the AMTH Region in the next period, Mr. Stylios in the coming days and then Mr. Georgantas, at the initiative of Mr. Metios, so that the farmers and stockbreeders of the Region have the opportunity to talk to them directly.
They discussed additional issues that concern the people of the primary sector in the AMTH Region as well as the issues raised to Mr. Metios by the tobacco growers and the cherry growers during the meetings they had with him in the last days.
