They had their backs against the wall, and it was to be believed that this pressure galvanized them. Forced to win to stay alive in this first round of the playoffs, the Drakkars appeared very to their advantage this Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in front of Nantes. They won 3-1 thanks to a double from Pierre-Antoine Devin and a goal from Jonathan Janil.
The Caennais raced in the lead from the ninth minute of play. They held on without shaking in the final minute, when Nantes came back to 3-2 while Devin seemed to have offered victory to his team a few moments earlier in double numerical advantage.
Caennais and Nantes will meet again this Thursday, March 24, still in Caen, for the fourth match of the series. Caen will have to win again to stay alive and afford a decisive fifth match in Nantes.
