welcome and inclusion and extracurricular school project for young Ukrainians
The Secretariat of State for Education and Culture and the Education Department would like to thank the many people who responded to the invitation to collaborate with the San Marino school to welcome and include young Ukrainians, who have arrived in San Marino in recent weeks, following the tragic events that are affecting their land. The Education Department together with the school managers and some volunteers, and thanks to the collaboration with the coordination unit of the Foreign Affairs Department, has all been working for days for a first phase of reception in the awareness that we are facing a phenomenon that is unprecedented for we, as these children and young people “are small on the run, they are not emigrants nor do their mothers intend to be, except for the time strictly necessary for the return of peace”. We want to help these young and very young people by avoiding naive superficial welcoming actions. We already know, for example, that many of them are continuing their schooling using DAD. We must therefore deepen and calibrate the welcome according to the age of the children and their personal school history. The Department will soon activate a mapping of the specific needs and requirements of each of them, from which to start for a project of reception and school and extra-school inclusion that integrates two differentiates: one path dedicated to the construction of classes of Ukrainian pupils who carry out also inclusive activities with San Marino pupils and another dedicated to programming activities for all in school and extra-school spaces with the collaboration of the Musical Institute, the Pologioco Ludoteca of the sports federations, dance and circus schools, associations, the Scouts, etc. etc. present in San Marino. Once this fundamental preliminary phase has been completed, from which a project defined in terms, times and places will arise, all the teachers and volunteer language mediators and all families will be met at the beginning of next week to share the project developed and activate it concretely. . It is not an easy challenge, above all because it comes at a time that is already complex and critical for the country, however it is an unavoidable path that our Education and Training system will be able to complete, demonstrating the competence and humanity that have always innervated. Renewal invitation to those who participate in education as a volunteer (we interpret students or speakers of retired education) to build this retirement education project to the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture at the email: projectsopa.sm
