Earth time, IEarth Houris the great worldwide mobilization of Wwf, now in its 15th edition, which, starting from the symbolic gesture of turning off the lights for an hour, unites citizens, institutions and businesses in a common desire to give the world a safer, fairer and more sustainable future and win the challenge of climate change . Even a seemingly simple gesture, such as turning off the light, is a contribution to a future of well-being for people and for the planet. A big ola of spent lights quickly spread to every corner of the planet, leaving symbolic monuments such as the Colosseum, Rio’s Christ the Redeemer, the Eiffel Tower, theArena of Verona and numerous others.
L’Earth Hour 2022, has already received the adhesion of the main Italian public institutions. The WWF received the medal that the Head of State wished to allocate to the international event. The Hour of the Earth has already received the support of numerous institutions and also for this edition of Earth Hour, the WWF has received the medal that the Head of State wished to allocate, as his representative award, to the international event.
Activities in the Verona area
Wwf Verona addressed the municipalities of the Province of Verona asking them to join the initiative of WWF Italy with the shutdown of the lights of a place or a symbol of the their city and indicate what concrete actions they intend to take for climate change. The Municipality of Verona will turn off the lights of the Arena, Bussolengo the Fountain and Piazza XXVI Aprile, Villafranca the Scaligero Castle, Caprino V.se Palazzo Carlotti, Garda, Cavaion, Castagnaro and Minerbe the Town Hall, Illasi the Town Hall and the Municipal Library, Povegliano See if Villa Balladoro, San Zeno di Montagna, Cà Montagna Valeggio sul Mincio the Visconteo Bridge, Sommacampagna the Fountain of Piazza della Repubblica. On Sunday 27 March an exploration open to all
Finally, on Sunday 27 March, the Veronese WWF will lead aexcursion to the hills above Avesa organized in collaboration with the Second Circumscription, Carpino, VR BW, CAI, FAB (first of four appointments on the pathways of the district). This excursion aims to show the naturalistic aspects of our territory and to raise awareness among citizens on the need for greater protection of the environment and biodiversity, thus binding itself to the spirit of Earth Hour. The meeting is scheduled at Piazza Plebiscito in Avesa (Fontana Leon) at 9.30, return at 13.
