Salzburg: Munich federal road along the B155
Work is progressing on the four-lane expansion of the Munich federal highway between Salzburg-Mitte and the former beer fountain and the former Merkur market. Currently, most of the construction is going on on the northern slope, which is not visible from the current southern lane.
Salzburg – Coming from Salzburg-Mitte, a cycle path ramp from Fischergasse to the new cycle path along the B155 can already be seen. Also in the course of the construction site are Works for the bike path visible, for example just before the T&G supermarket a retaining wall that will represent the outer edge of the cycle path. Shortly before that, a large pit was dug, according to our research it will be a retention basin in which the street water is collected and is retained before being slowly introduced into the millstream.
The new construction of the former beer fountain seems currently say too far into the intersection, However, in this area the bike path and the sidewalk will be built over, which means that they will run “in the house”. A small, white house opposite the OMV gas station – formerly a hairdresser – stands still.
The third and last expansion stage of the Munich federal highway should cost 4.3 million euros, of which the city counts 1.2 million for wide footpaths and cycle paths. The work was originally supposed to start in autumn 2020 and be finished by the end of 2022, now it’s time to die Completion planned for summer 2023.
