Portugal failed to go to the U-17 European Championship after losing to the Netherlands
Dutch, needing only a draw, triumphed expressively in Tondela, without a date of presentation of the qualifying phase. Portugal came in second
The U-17 women’s national team, this Tuesday, the qualification for the European category, will lose with the last Netherlands 3-0, in a game of third and round of group 7 of the Elite Round.
In disputed at the João Cardoso Stadium, in Tondela, Portugal needed the match to win to be able to qualify, since the draw was enough for the Dutch, but the goal of Fieke Kroese, after two minutes, made up even more the Portuguese task, having the ‘ bis’ by Djoeke De Ridder (57 and 85) confirmed in victory, and consequent purification, of the Netherlands.
The Dutch team dominated the first quarter of an hour and had Fieke Kroese as the most dangerous player, author of the goal and several dangerous shots, on the pitch of the Beira redoubt.
Marisa Gomes’ team still managed to rebalance the match, but the Dutch team maintained a superiority, which extended into the second half, a period in which central Djoeke De Ridder stood out, scoring the second and third goals (57 and 85) .
With the first place in group 7, with nine points, the selection of the Parent Countries ensured the qualification for the European Championship, which will take place in Bosnia-Herzegovina, with Portugal finishing in second place, with six points, Italy in the third, with three, and Montenegro in the fourth, without any point.
