Meeting of the Coordination Group of RF
On Monday evening the Coordination of Repubblica Futura met urgently. At the center of the meeting was the political situation and the most recent news reports that also touched the Supreme Judiciary. RF expresses great and serious for the image that politics gives in the most recent period. From the facts of Gino Giacomini, to the episodes of violence, to the complaints against the press to the citizens, to the harassment that the obliged states even perpetrated by a Captain Regent. Facts to which a climate of hatred, threat, intimidation and decomposition of the rule of law acts as a corollary and humus that truly presage the end of a political class and democratic coexistence. What citizenship perceives, unfortunately, is the sad representation of a politics that no longer does its job, that does not discuss the problems of the country, does not solve them, does not create the hope of a restart but turns on itself in clashes tribal powered by some sapper. RF is and will always be a guarantor, and has repeatedly given proof of the correctness of its representatives in the institutions, not evading any type of assessment that, often even in a specious way, has been promoted by many: we do not fear the truth and we reiterate the will and the need to permanently account to the citizens of our conduct, without accepting logic based on an undemocratic presumption of guilt but aware of the need to always preserve the credibility of the institutions. Unfortunately, however, never as in the last few hours, the double standards and the desire to use personal episodes for political ends, has highlighted the danger of certain subjects who have been polluting political life for too long. How to comment differently on the reactions of the NPR Group Leader Gian Nicola Berti, who, in the face of the sad episode that saw the Secretary of Libera as the protagonist, in a few seconds provided premises, conclusions and final condemnation with a lot of mockery, combined with a bizarre question for ascertain the truth? Where in this case were the presumption of innocence and independence of the Tribunal in establishing the facts? What about an astonished political class that faced the “code of ethics” of the Councilors amid hypocrisy and embarrassment, without spending a single word on what would happen to the highest institution in our country? Why did NPR and Gian Nicola Berti also in this case not submit an interpellation to ascertain the truth, why did they not condemn and distance themselves from what seems to have happened? RF has adopted the same behavior in both cases, certain that these questions must be solved and ascertained in the appropriate fora and that politics can never fail to a principle: that of guaranteeing the dignity of people but also of protecting institutions. Of course, the worst thing would be even giving the impression that the law is not the same for everyone, that whoever holds a certain office is required to pay more for a fact can get the imp or a blow in the sponge just because some conduct are committed exercising a certain institutional role. This would be the end of the credibility of institutions and democracy. The only defense against this danger are the correctness of the Administration, of the officials and of the people who hold institutional positions, and a strong protection and enhancement of the role of the press are free that, in the face of distorted behavior, ready to distance themselves and denounce the facts: RF will always be close to these people, men and women. Finally, with all the caution and reservations of the case, one cannot be silent about how this question closely affects the credibility of the institution to which the San Marino citizens are most attached: the Regency. It is urgent – we believe – that there is a precise and timely denial to the news we have all read, with all due respect to the bullshit that insists on writing to the Congress of State (between allegedly due silence and renewed threats to the press). If this is not the case, if there are no conditions to do so, then the question is really serious, indeed dramatic, and there is nothing left for all those who hold positions to think seriously about resigning, to safeguard the same institutions and what remains institutional. of their credibility and to open a new phase of decorum and dignity. In conclusion, we wish to express our total closeness and our full support to women who, if the facts are confirmed, may have been the victim of phenomena that should never happen; women that the Congress of State seems to remember only in alternating current. On this too, we hope that the institutions in charge will shed full light as quickly as possible.
