Linxon wins turnkey order for Svenska kraftnät in Sweden
VÄSTERÅS, Sweden , March 22, 2022 / PRNewswire / – Linxon has won an order from Svenska kraftnät in Sweden to renew an existing 400 kV substation, located in Kilanda on the west coast of Sweden.
The Kilanda transformer station is an important hub in the electricity grid on the west coast and has reached its technical life and needs a renewal to ensure continued operation, while increasing performance and reducing future maintenance costs. These transformer station works are perfectly adapted to our capacity and expertise at Linxon and we are proud to serve this important customer and the communities that rely on reliable power “, says Ingela Hålling, CEO of Linxon Hub Nordics.
The transformer station connects several important transmission lines, which requires careful interruption planning to carry out the work efficiently and ensure continued stability in the transmission network. The replacement of existing equipment will for the most part take place on existing steel structures and foundations, which extends the service life of the transformer station with minimal environmental impact.
The project consists of equipment replacement of six 400 kV compartments and the addition of a new compartment. The turnkey project includes a new control and protection system as well as an auxiliary system housed in a new building.
