VG was present when Haaland landed at Gardermoen on Monday afternoon in the private plane like him bought together with dad Alfie Haaland last year.
The attacker came flying from Dortmund – half a day later The 1-1 match against Cologne in the German Bundesliga. Around 13.00, Jærbuen set foot on Norwegian soil outside Oslo.
Haaland, who at the age of 21 is considered one of the world’s best and most sought after players, did not want to talk to VG.
– Do you have time for a few questions before you get in the car, Erling? asked VG’s reporter.
“Tip once,” replied Haaland.
Wearing a dark hoodie and caps, the 194-centimeter-tall striker then sat in a waiting car and drove towards the capital, where he will meet the rest of the national team squad.
The star striker is finally back for Norway after injury and can play his first international matches since the 5-1 victory over Gibraltar in September last year.
Norway meets Slovakia next Friday and Armenia next Tuesday. Both private internationals are played at Ullevaal Stadium.
As is well known, Norway did not manage to make it to the World Cup in Qatar, which will be played this winter. The last four qualifying matches the national team had to do without Haaland, which has been a very important piece for Ståle Solbakken’s men with a total of 12 goals in 15 matches with the Norwegian flag on their chest.
At the same time as Haaland is getting ready to play international matches number 16 and 17, the Rogalander is expected to make an important decision about the future in a short time. All indications are that the 21-year-old will change club this summer. The question is which employer Haaland chooses after so far having scored an insane 80 goals in 82 games for Dortmund.
Real Madrid and Manchester City should be very interested, in addition to Barcelona and Bayern Munich. It is probably also only the biggest clubs that can afford the Norwegian.
According to German Bild, the billion package for Haaland consists of the following points:
- 750 million in transfer sum which is quantified through a buyout clause in Haaland’s current contract with Dortmund.
- To billions in salary to Haaland spread over five years (which will mean 400 million kroner per season).
- 400 million in agent fees to Mino Raiola.
- 300 million in agent fees to Alfie Haaland.
- 100 million in an additional fee to Raiola which will be linked to the buyout clause in Haaland’s current Dortmund contract.
Alfie Haaland did not want to comment on these sums above VG.
