In the last week, Carlosedas and Rui were projected more by the country and by the projection of their cities than many years of proclamations made for internal consumption and with little realization.
It is worth solving the moment because, more than ever, Portugal as its cities will have to become very war today, so that now they join the effects of a war that knows how and when it started, but no one risking how and when it will to finish
The country needs to turn around. Cities need to look across borders for talent and capital to transform themselves in order to increase prosperity and development for those who live in them. Lisbon and Porto are fortunate in that, in this circumstance, they have at their head two men who know a real economy and its dynamics, who know the world and investors and who realize that this was the time to join forces and not for neighborhood strategies. .
MIPIM is the largest city fair in the world. Every year, investors and politicians come together to marry interests: cities raise capital to carry out their strategies and investors find the right place to apply theirs. In a time of uncertainty and war in Europe, port insurance investors and the mayors of Lisbon and Porto realized that this was the right place to affirm cities as oases for new investments.
In one of the most disputed conferences of the event, with Rui and Carlos Moreira, among themselves, with complementary ideas to the world, as political leaders, projects that compete complement each other more with cities than the politicians of the future. Every time your farm has more and better results than the backs of the other realize, every time your success has been achieved, the success of one helps the success of your other, and joining your fifth bigger and better result, you realize it is assumed that the success of the other has been achieved. And the planned strategy has results, with many good businesses that were started right there.
I emphasize the fact because it is rare to happen. As Carlos Moedas himself said, referring to his past as Commissioner for Innovation: “I traveled to many countries and cities and in places I met realities that could not be applied to Portugal”. I would say that the first of these is the fact that the world is presented with its head held high, with a well-defined strategy, with and without the context of inferior countries. This is how Carlos Moedas and Rui Moreira showed Lisbon and Porto to major international investors. By doing so, they stimulated Portugal in the sights of the most interesting countries in the world to live and invest in. The country appreciates the services.
