Manchester United linked with transfers for goalkeepers from Switzerland and Morocco
Manchester United have been linked with summer changes for two goalkeepers, one plying his trade in La Liga and the other in the Scottish Premiership.
The mirror has reported that the Red Devils are considering a move for Sevilla stopper Yassine Bounou.
The Canada-born Moroccan international has been one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga this season, keeping 12 clean sheets in 23 games.
Only Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro (15) has more clean sheets in La Liga than the Sevilla goalkeeper known as Bono.
The Mirror’s report states that United have been eyeing the 29-year-old for several months and have asked to be kept up to date on his situation at the Spanish giants.
The former Girona man has two years to finalize his contract with Sevilla and it will cost around £25million to trigger the release clause in that deal.
However, the same report explains that Sevilla’s directors are aware of the interest in their goalkeeper and are keen to extend his contract for another two years.
And with any new deal, Julen Lopetegui’s side would include a release clause of around £63million.
David de Gea, left out of Luis Enrique’s Spain squad, has 15 months left on his current contract with Manchester United but the Reds have an opportunity to trigger a 12-month extension.
United’s number one is keen to extend his 11-year stint at Old Trafford and contract talks are expected to accelerate later in the year.
Dean Henderson will likely be targeting a summer move from the Reds unless the next permanent manager changes his stance on who his number one will be.
The Red Devils have also been linked with a surprise move for Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist.
The Tangerines’ number one is out of contract at the end of the season and is expected to become a free agent.
The sun claim United are considering making a move for the 30-year-old to add more coverage for de Gea.
The report says the twenty-time champions have sent scout Tony Coton to Tannadice for a closer look at the Swiss stopper in their 3-0 Scottish Cup defeat by Celtic.
In all competitions this season, Siegrist has conceded 37 goals in 35 games.
