Civil Protection registers 96 occurrences until 17:00 in mainland Portugal — DNOTICIAS.PT
The Civil Protection registered, today, at 17:00, a total of 96 occurrences related to bad weather in mainland Portugal, including falls of trees and floods, mainly located in the district of Faro, but with no record of injuries.
“At 17:00 today, 96 occurrences were recorded, mainly located in the district of Faro, with 61 of these 96 occurrences, and related to falling trees, floods, cleaning of the road and falls of structures”, said José Costa, operations officer for the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC).
Speaking to the Lusa agency, the head of Civil Protection indicated that, out of the total number of recorded occurrences, “292 operational and 96 land assets were mobilized”, and assured that the child victims were not involved in any situation.
Most of the occurrences recorded in the “southernest” districts of the Portuguese mainland, in which Faro is the most prominent according to Lisbon, with nine occurrences each, and Setúbal, with eight ANEPC balance sheets until 17:00.
The Civil Protection foreseen even foresees this balance with data for the next few hours, since, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), the warnings related to bad weather are in force at 18:00 today, so a improvement of the meteorological situation from this hour.
