Today March 18, the Great and General Council elected Oscar Mina and Paolo Rondellinew Captains Regent for the semester April 1 – October 1 2022.
The profiles of the elect:
Former Captain Regent in the semester 1st April – 1st October 2009, Oscar Mina was born on September 24, 1958. Single, he lives in Serravalle. Industrial Expert working at the Autonomous State Company for Services first as a technician – from 1979 to 1992 – then as Head of Service until 2019, the year of his retirement. Member of the Christian Democratic Party of San Marino since 1998, he is currently a member of the Central Council and of the DC Management. From an institutional point of view, starting from June 2006 enters the Great and General Council in the Christian Democratic team, of which he was Deputy Head of the council group from 2008 to 2016. Over the years he has been a member of various council commissions, including Finance, Interparliamentary, Justice Affairs but among the most intense and lasting commitments is that at theOSCE Parliamentary Assembly of which he is now Head of Delegation for San Marino, as well as from 2020 Special Representative for Disinformation and Propaganda. In this legislature he also chairs the Permanent Council Commission for Health and Territory. He also played an active role in the Conference of Small States, both as Head of Delegation in 2015 representing the Presidents of Parliaments in the Principality of Monaco, and as a member of the 2018 delegation in Liechtenstein. Sale for the first time to the Supreme Magistracy, Paolo Rondelli. He was born in San Marino on June 17, 1963. Single, he is currently Director of the Cultural Institutes. He boasts a long diplomatic career as Ambassador to the United States from 2007 to 2016, and to follow as Ambassador to Unesco until 2019. In December of the same year – after completing his diplomatic career – he ran for political elections and enters the Great and General Council among the ranks of the Network Movement: in the current legislature is Chairman of the Permanent Consultative Commission for Foreign Affairs and member of the Delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the Inter-Parliamentary Union. At the end of the 90s a short socialist past led to the candidacy for the PSD in the 2006 elections. Four degrees, – chemical engineering, historical sciences, book and document sciences, culture and techniques of costume and fashion – various masters and courses of improvement; he is also the author of plays and two books. Among the honors received that of Cavaliere al Merito of the Italian Republic. He loves reading, cinema, theater, art, traditional San Marino ceramics, opera. For decades he has been involved in gender rights, equal opportunities, fight against discrimination in particular related to sexual orientation.
