International School offers scholarship program for youth from Ukraine
The International School Rheintal, in cooperation with the Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein, is launching a scholarship program for students displaced by the Ukraine conflict.
“The increasing number of refugees from Ukraine in the Rhine Valley and Liechtenstein makes immediate on-site help necessary”
This is what the Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein (HFFL) and the International School Rheintal (ISR) write in a statement. A scholarship program at the ISR is intended to give the refugees the opportunity to continue their academic career. Applications can be submitted from now until April 8th.
School and exam fees paid
The scholarships are for up to five students with protection status S who are currently in 9th grade and above and would normally aim for an academic education. Scholarship recipients will attend ISR and tuition and exam fees will be paid in full for the duration of their schooling. You will complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program, which is recognized by universities in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and worldwide. Liz Free, CEO and Director, says:
“We are all shocked, saddened and deeply concerned by the humanitarian crisis that is unfolding before our eyes. With unprecedented numbers of young people displaced, there is a risk of a lost generation.”
«We want to do our part to enable the students who normally aspire to university studies and to ensure a good future for them, their families and their country. The Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein scholarship program is one of the ways we can make a real difference,” says Free.
Make a contribution for the refugees
The Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein is a non-profit foundation that operates in Liechtenstein and the region. The key value “help for self-help” is at the center of all supported projects. Michèle Frey-Hilti, President of the Board of Trustees of the Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein, is convinced that uncomplicated and significant help is needed in exceptional situations. «As a locally active foundation, it is important to us to make a contribution in Liechtenstein and the region. Education is an important field of activity for our foundation. With the scholarship program, we can make a contribution to giving the refugees the stability they urgently need.” (PD)
