Help Ukraine: Four additional registration options | State of Tyrol
For refugees from Ukraine in the districts of Reutte, Lienz and Kufstein who already have (private) accommodation
- Medical screening, accommodation assignments and registrations will continue to take place at the Haus Marillac arrival center in Innsbruck
- After moving into accommodation: report your place of residence and, if necessary, apply for basic care
- Appeal: When larger groups arrive from the Ukraine, Land Tirol should be informed as soon as possible
- Questions about basic services can be sent to [email protected]
The central registration office for people who have fled Ukraine is currently located at the arrival center in Innsbruck, Haus Marillac. Medical screenings and accommodation assignments also take place there. When registering, the personal data of the people who have fled are recorded, which is relevant for the issuance of the “ID for displaced persons” (in the form of a check card) and for further care – for example the processing of basic care and job opportunities. SO THAT people who do not arrive directly in Innsbruck and are registered privately can claim (subsequent) registration as close as possible to their place of residence, decentralized options have been set up at police stations: while one registration office each in the Lienz and Kufstein districts is already in operation at the respective police station registered, the collection points in the Reutte and Imst districts will start today, Thursday. The specific addresses and registration times can be found on the Federal Ministry of the Interior website as well as in the fact box.
“All people arriving in Tyrol from Ukraine must be registered. There are organizational and, above all, legal reasons for this,” explains Bernd Noegler from the country’s special staff in Ukraine that you have to know where the people are in the country and how they can become: “This is also the basic requirement for being able to provide them with subsequent financial support. No one needs to worry about being turned away.”
Providers of private accommodation who want to support the people who have been admitted in handling basic services and who have questions about the main support options can contact [email protected] with immediate effect. In addition, Bernd Noggler appealed: “Private trips to the Ukrainian border are generally discouraged for your own safety. If, as a result, larger groups of refugees arrive in Tyrol from private initiatives, we appeal to the organizers to report this to the state of Tyrol so that competent and rapid coordination can be guaranteed.”
Most of the refugees so far registered in Innsbruck
As of Thursday morning, the police had registered around 820 people from Ukraine in Tyrol: “Most registrations are currently being recorded in the provincial capital, where the police are integrated into the Haus Marillac arrival center. In order to enable refugees to register as easily as possible, we have made recording equipment available for selected locations. We are observing developments very closely and can, if necessary, provide further registration offices or extend the operating hours,” emphasizes the State Police Director Edelbert Kohler, that with the help of the registration the rapid further processing by the competent authority, the Federal Office for Immigration and Asylum, and thus the delivery of a corresponding “ID for displaced persons” is guaranteed. This ID, a photo ID in credit card format, is also a prerequisite for an employment permit from the AMS. Employers who want to work for refugees must AMS apply for a work permit.
After registration: registration, school and childcare
After the refugees have been registered and have arrived in their accommodation, it is important to also state their current “residence” with the respective municipality or. notify the local registration office. In principle, according to the applicable law, this should be done within three days of moving into accommodation – private accommodation providers can support you in this. The respective municipalities are available to answer any questions.
The following applies to childcare and school attendance options: In order to organize a childcare place (kindergarten, crèche or after-school care centre), the municipality is also the central point of contact. This can then carry out a check of the available places and contact the competent specialist inspector in the state if you have any questions. If a place in a school is required for a species, an email should be sent to [email protected]. The Directorate of Education then selects the appropriate school for the child and provides information about the location of the school and further information.
“We would like to thank all the volunteers, the approval of the authorities in the communities and private accommodation providers who support the refugees with the processing and arrival in Tyrol,” emphasizes Bernd Noggler.

What should be considered after the arrival of the Ukrainian refugees in Tyrol? What do I have to consider as a private accommodation provider? What contact points are there in advance for legal questions? Answers to these and many other questions can be found on the central online platform of the state of Tyrol at www.tirol.gv.at/ukraine. The page is constantly updated – for example, private accommodation providers have a form available there that YOU can use to register the accommodation including key data.
