Time cushion participates in the care of refugees – Liechtenstein
VADUZ – The association “Zeit Polster” supports the refugee aid in Liechtenstein in looking after refugees from the Ukraine. They help, for example, with shopping, explanations and orientation aids as well as supervision in the collective accommodation.
It is primarily women and children who enter Liechtenstein as refugees, but also older, cognitively impaired or disabled people. They are first admitted to the asylum center and given first aid, before they are housed in decentralized collective accommodation or private apartments, where they can then live as independently as possible.
In this extraordinary situation, refugee aid in Liechtenstein therefore needs support in caring for the refugees, Zeit Polster wrote in a statement. Support services include making purchases, providing explanations and guidance on infrastructure, for example, ensuring day attendance and general supervision in collective accommodation, and carrying out administrative activities or errands.
Volunteers can sign up
The state administration authorities are currently setting up the necessary structures. “Since we don’t know how many refugees in need will come to Liechtenstein, we are very happy that Zeit Polster supports us spontaneously and unbureaucratically and that we can thus call on a pool of helpers,” says the managing director of the refugee aid, Heinz Schaffer, in quoted in the media release. According to Judith Oehri, managing director of Zeit Polster, numerous members of the association have already declared their willingness to support the refugee aid.
Anyone who would also like to help can register on the Zeit Polster platform (www.zeit Polster.li). As soon as the structures are in place, according to Heinz Schaffer, the refugee aid WILL hold an information event for the helpers.
