here’s where to save on a full tank of fuel
While the price of Brent crude oil per barrel on Tuesday 15 March returns to drop below 100 dollars, while the prices of gasoline and diesel fuel supplied to the Italian pump remain at the highest levels for over a decade, with a price increase for weeks. The average prices at national level in the distributors of the Bel Paese in mid-March 2022 amounted to around 2,219 euros per liter for gasoline and 2,225 for diesel (in self-service mode). With the intervention of an operator and therefore in “served” mode, however, the threshold of 2.3 euros / liter is exceeded for both petrol and diesel. These are the average prices released by Energy Newspaper. Here, however, the average prices in Italy compared to other countries in the world while these are apps to find the lowest prices. The “peaks”, however, depending on the traditional brands – or “no logo” – and geographical areas can substantially increase the bill, up to almost 2.4 euros per liter for gasoline, and to exceed this threshold for diesel, in the case of refueling with an operator. Among the trends, a fact emerges: the price of diesel has exceeded that of unleaded petrol in most distributors. The general rise in price lists is evident if we compare with the average prices at the pump in February 2022 – data from Ministry of Ecological Transition; the Mise Price Observatory has been undergoing maintenance for two days at the time of writing – equal to 1,848 euros / liter (petrol) and 1,720 euros / liter (diesel for cars) and even more so in January 2022, respectively equal to 1,764 euro / liter and 1,632 euro / liter. The surge in fuel prices therefore renews the interest of Italian motorists and motorcyclists who can for reasons of proximity to some foreign border countries – Swiss And Slovenia -, the Italian territories subject to a particular tax regime such as Livignoin Lombardy, and other places, such as Republic of San Marino, where fuel prices allow you to fill up and save money. Having said that a large part of the Peninsula and the islands are for geographical reasons cut off from this form of benefit, here is where and how much you save the most.
