Governor of Istanbul Yerlikaya presented the families of martyrs and veterans with the Medal of Honor
At the State Commendation Medal Ceremony for the relatives of the martyrs and veterans who constitute the pride of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish nation, with the works aimed at production, visible at home and abroad with the President’s favor, in the Istanbul Governor’s Office.
Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, 1st Army Commander Lieutenant General Kemal Yeni, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Deputy Mayor Hüseyin Aksu, 3rd Corps Commander Lieutenant General Levent Ergün, deputy governors, district officers, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Yusuf Kenan Topçu, Provincial Police Director Zafer Aktaş, some mayors, related institutions and shoppers, families of martyrs attended.
Respectful and bursting with the locals of the National Anthem, Valikaya said that martyrs have “honours” and veterans have “honors”.
Today, if 780,000 citizens make fun of our flag, we belong to these saintly martyrs and veterans who are about to die before they die freely and freely. We cannot repay our debt of gratitude to the heroic sons of the country.”
“This homeland, this land that was never owned”
Yerlikaya also describes the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad on martyrdom, reminding that Islam emphasizes the homeland, the nation, and the belief of his office, starting with his life according to his belief.
Recalling the 107th anniversary of the Çanakkale Naval Victory on March 18, Yerlikaya said:
“Çanakkale was any war. It was a debate about the existence of a nation. From Hakkari to İzmir, from Samsun to Adana, from Aleppo to Kosovo, the total uprising of our beloved nation was the first sentence of our War of Independence. For Çanakkale, Mehmet Akif, ‘Asım’ ‘s endangered business is either a generational truth. He didn’t break his honor, he won’t.’ Here, today, the safe surrender of our martyrs and our heroes, veterans, with Asım’s generation dressed in skirts, ‘The hill of martyrs is not empty.’ This homeland, this land that was never owned.”
He noted that the most important task that shows the fall of Yerlikaya, the most special corner of the hearts of the martyrs and veterans, was never the sweaters of their families and veterans.
Governor Yerlikaya, on behalf of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his speech, presented the State Medal of Honor and Certificates to 5 relatives of martyrs and 13 veterans in Istanbul.
The ceremony ended with a photo shoot with the families of martyrs and veterans to commemorate the day.
