FW-Pewny: Definitive no from the Free Economy of Salzburg to 100 km/h on the Autobahn
Greens should not try to make ideological capital out of the self-inflicted crisis!
Vienna (OTS) – A definite no to the Greens’ idea of introducing a nationwide speed limit of 100 on motorways comes from the state chairman of FW-Salzburg, Ing. Christian Penny. The petrol price explosion was home-made and the hypocritical sympathy of the Greens in hypocrisy could not be surpassed – after all, it was they who categorically rejected calls for the suspension or reduction of mineral oil tax and value added tax on fuel and thus bear responsibility for the high prices.
“While in Hungary and Slovakia fuel is around 50 cents per liter cheaper than here and Slovenia even caps the fuel price at 1 euro 50 cents, our federal government is watching idly, promising a reduction of a ridiculous 20 cents from April 1st and practice hypocrisy. What is needed now is action,” Pewny clarifies. The first act of the ÖVP should now be to stop the green coalition partner. In further steps, the ÖVP, as a self-proclaimed business party, must ensure that Austria as a business location, after two years of torment by the Corona measures regime, is not now going to the wall due to the high energy prices.
Today, the Freiliche Wirtschaft Salzburg is calling for another crackdown on the CO2 pricing planned for July 1st, an increase in mileage allowance and commuter allowance and a temporary suspension or reduction of mineral oil tax and value added tax on fuel, electricity and gas – not just fuel prices create problems for companies and households, but also the exploding prices for electricity and gas. While other states are also finding ways to relieve this, the state association has announced that it will continue to increase electricity prices in May. “Verbund boasts that 100 percent of its electricity comes from domestic hydropower. “If the Greens want good ideas, then they should ask Verbund what electricity from domestic Danube power plants has to do with the Ukraine crisis,” concluded Pewny.
