War in Ukraine: granted more than 9200 requests for protection. Portugal
Portugal granted this Tuesday more than 9,200 requests for protection of people from Ukraine in a situation of war, the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) revealed to Lusa.
According to the latest update, SEF Russia has received 9,225 planned protection requests since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine on 24 February.
By the end of Monday, 8,250 requests had been registered.
The Portuguese Government grants protection to people in war situations.
The SEF has an online platform, in three different languages, for requests for protection for Ukrainian residents.

During the protection process, through work in Portugal, citizens who gain access to it have access to tax, Social Security and National Health Service numbers, which can thus benefit from these services and enter the health market.
The platform also contains information on other aspects of reception and integration of displaced people.
According to the International Organization for Migration, the number of people who fled Ukraine due to the Russian invasion reached three million, including more than 1.4 million children.
