Severe. The village land of Paralympic Games-Paris 2024
On Thursday April 21, throughout the day, the first Paralympic Games will take place, reserved for children and adults accommodated in IMEs and residential homes. This project is led by AS Lagrave in partnership with the IME and the Florentin home, the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee, the Departmental Committee for Adapted Sports and the Tarn Football District. An opportunity for the club to diversify its activities and show its attachment to the practice of sport for all, in particular people with disabilities. Jacques Ferret designed this project on behalf of the club with the enthusiastic support of its president Julien Quilbeuf and all the volunteers. He has a long experience acquired in Albi where he was involved in adapted sport for a long time.
We expect no less than 250 competitors from Tarn institutions but also from neighboring departments. Registrations are in progress. The students of the school will also be there. The municipality provides all the facilities: the stadium and its annexes, the gymnasium, the village hall. Under the watchful eye of their educators, participants could practice football, handball and the relay race. Several highlights are on the program: the time of the meal in the village hall, at 1.30 p.m. a great parade through the streets of the village with flags and signs, at 4 p.m. the traditional ceremony of podiums and awards. “I am very happy with the reception reserved for this project, welcomes Jacques Ferret. The local authorities contain the initiative. In the first place the municipality but also the Department and the Region. The sponsors solicited are present, in particular Harmonie Mutuelle, Décathlon , Leclerc and McDonalds. Hoping the sun will be there!”
