Private school Goldenstein: Elsbethen and Puch step in
education
After the municipality of Oberalm (Tennengau) no longer contributed to the renovation costs of the private school Goldenstein, the neighboring municipalities of Elsbethen and Puch now step in and take over the Oberalmer part. The archdiocese and the country share the rest.
Elsbethen will pay up to 1.6 million euros for the renovation of Goldenstein and Puch will probably pay 740,000 euros – this means that 37 percent of the costs are already covered and the continued existence of the school is secured for the time being.
The two municipalities still need a municipal council decision to bear the additional costs, says the mayor of Elsbethen Franz Tiefenbacher (ÖVP): “The agreement from Elsbethen must be decided at the end of March and Puch must also decide the difference first. In this case I am the building authority and then the work will be put out to tender by the Archdiocese of Salzburg.”
Lower costs for students from Puch and Elsbethen
The Archdiocese of Salzburg WILL bear 12 percent of the renovation costs, how much the state WILL invest is still unclear. Pupils who come from the communities of Puch and Elsbethen no longer have to pay full school fees. In addition, fixed places are reserved for the students from these communities.
