Micael Sequeira left Uzbekistan and waits for “good opportunity” in Portugal
After having coached Lokomotiv Tashkent, from Uzbekistan, Micael Sequeira opted to return to Portugal. The 48-year-old is waiting for a “good opportunity” and explains that, at this stage of his career, he prefers to put financial arguments on the back burner.
“To be able to resist the temptation to continue outside the country with contracts that, terms used, are very good in origin”, in an interview, in an interview Renaissance.
Micael Sequeira highlights that he does not only look at the financial aspect, which is why he preferred his return to Portugal. “Here I am waiting for a good opportunity, a good project where I can put into practice all the experience and everything I have assimilated over the years”, he concludes.
The coach also has a vast curriculum, started in the 1997/98 season, as an observer for SC Braga. He would also be assistant coach of several teams of the Minho emblem, also with the B team, before in 2008/09 he took on his first experience as a head coach at Clube Atlético de Valdevez.
The route would then include several national football emblems, such as Desportivo das Aves, Trofense, Merelinense and Freamunde. Returning to Braga to be assistant and technical coordinator – after a spell at Al Nassr (Saudi Arabia) under-21s – the coach would leave again, this time to distant Uzbekistan.
Now, it’s time to go back to the roots and wait for an exciting career project to emerge.
