There is for teaching in Portugal – Observer

A few weeks after the inauguration of a new Minister of Education, some important measures were suggested.
There is a saying that goes: a child begins to be educated 20 years before birth. The big message is to record that when we educate our children, we are already educating their children, our grandchildren. This saying must be well applied in the minds of those responsible for our government. In today’s schools, teachers, businessmen, presidents, ministers, technicians, today’s engineers, teachers of the future, executives, artists, sum up, all the preparations. It is an extremely important and long-term mission. It’s a mission!
reading the Mission and powers of the Directorate-General for Education a set of objectives at the procedural level stand out. That is, objectives such as: developing this, coordinating, monitoring this, etc. Vague and good intentions, followed by many isolated measures, but without a concrete program for the medium and long term. The focus on improving facilities, or improving available equipment, or on digitization are details of a substantive, challenging, ambitious, but achievable proposal. I feel like saying: stop with vague goals! Promoting better quality of education, promoting greater success or greater inclusion. Nobody can be against this. Also let go of school dropout as the reduction of micro, or the decrease of school dropout. They are not objectives, but indicators of reality, and they can be manipulated by the rulers themselves (just lower the demand and success grows). These goals are important and should be achieved as quickly as possible, but they should be seen as intermediate goals rather than final goals.
Let there be more for teaching in Portugal! Higher aims, nobler ends, and bolder goals should be proposed. The mission of the next Minister of Education must be the full of excellence in teaching in Portugal and the development of the talents of students and teachers. There should be a way to place Portugal at the top of the world in terms of teaching quality. Without one ends up failing for not even trying. We can aim to fly high like eagles, why settle for flying low like poultry?
To be ambitious in education, it will suffice to list several defined deadlines, it will be necessary to implement them and quantify them at various deadlines. It will be necessary to think about how to enhance the best ones, not forgetting those who have the greatest difficulties. The current mission seems to be just “leave no one behind”. We cannot focus on goals by limiting a legislature. An example of a possible one would be: Get a fields in the next 20 years. Have two more Nobel Prizes in the next 40 years. To be in the top 3 of the PISA and TIMSS rankings in the next decade. One of these awards or another award, in addition to the prestige it brings, is proof that a good job is being done. What if it’s not good way.
Each new one must be met by an explanatory rationale of what is proposed, which methods and methodologies to use. Do not forget to define a set of indicators, defined a priori, which promote transparency and communication through independent evaluation of the entire process. The only successors who went above the beginning, have neither at the end, nor are they independent of decisions in their own cause, such as the one we spoke about. If this is not possible, as with all preventive measures, it will always be successful, it will be possible to present any topic through a favorable perspective.
All processes can accompany and contribute, suggesting changes, which do not, those that do not work, are learning for the future, which do not start for the future. of work already done.
For example, what will it take to aim for a Portuguese person to deliver a medal fields, award to mathematicians under 40 years old during the International Congress of the International Mathematical Union (IMU)? First, it will be necessary to assume this goal, communicate it and make a retro definition of the different steps that will have to be followed sequentially. Create a “school” of a specific area within, create a “school” of defining examples, create a precise “school”. For this to be possible, at the cutting edge, conditions for research to take place in Portuguese universities. It’s only the students’ ambition to do so, to enter universities, to have more advanced preparation in mathematics. A better preparation of basic education for a more complex mathematics program, which will only be possible if the most basic requirement. This exercise must be developed, in more detail, until reaching a point that is certainly concrete. At the end, they go through the various steps in reverse in order to study resources in detail, secure the resources and implement them.
This article marks the availability on the website Schools Ranking data since 1998 concerning final secondary exams. Thus, the analysis is extended from 14 to 24 years. In relation to last year, we only have data available on the subjects. It sounds incredible, but data from 2021 can only be made available to the media in May 2022 and only in this year can they be made public. It becomes the most extensive study ever publicly released on this topic. It is a tool used to study the following years, learn the past results of the last few years, managed to realize what you have learned over the last few years, learn what you have learned over the last few years. No major advantage will be the ability to prepare predictives. This makes it possible to design new and better scenarios for the future.
The previously published graph on the evolution of Viana do Castelo’s positioning in the annual ranking by district is updated, with data from the years 198 to 2007 and with all the classifications of the exams of the year 2020 incomplete at the time. The elaboration of this ranking was entered with all the exams of all the disciplines.
