Jean-Pierre Pernaut: his funeral will take place this Wednesday in Paris
The funeral of Jean-Pierre Pernaut takes place this Wednesday, March 9 in Paris. The former flagship presenter of 1 p.m. TF1 died last week at the age of 71, from lung cancer.
The religious ceremony will take place from 11 a.m. at the Sainte-Clotilde basilica in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. As for the burial, it will be held in the strictest privacy, said the TF1 group.
Son of an engineer and rally driver, Jean Pernaut, and a pharmacist, Françoise Pernaut, the former star presenter, joined TF1 on January 6, 1975, the day the channel was created, number of breakup of the ORTF.
Regularly cited among the most popular personalities in France, Jean-Pierre Pernaut had established himself as the king of midday news, with a formula activated on proximity.
The one who had joined TF1 from its creation had decided to withdraw from the JT, on December 18, 2020, when he was at the height of his audiences.
