The next Haaland? The fifth biggest RB Salzburg talents
Sadio Mané or Erling Haaland started their careers in Salzburg. The Austrian editorial team of kicker presents five players from the current squad of the Bayern opponent, who could be “the next big thing” from the RB forge.

Karim Adeyemi (20): Chased from half of Europe, BVB seems to be in the running for Salzburg’s currently hottest stock next summer. The recently 20-year-old has not only proven his qualities in Austria’s Bundesliga, but also at the highest level in the Champions League. Thanks to his coolness in front of goal, Adeyemi can attack both on the front line, but thanks to his speed and technique he is also in good hands as a winger. And the young German national player has other qualities that cannot be trained: The rascal from Munich has retained his youthful carelessness even under the spotlight in the concert of the big ones and is just bursting with self-confidence.
Mohamed Camara (22): The national player from Mali works tirelessly in defensive midfield, keeps the creative spirits in front of him free and, thanks to his ball security, is a welcome recipient of passes in the game build-up. The 22-year-old always seems calm, and he never needs to change speed abruptly. You don’t have to be a prophet to see that Camara’s path will lead to a top league sooner rather than later.
Sucic doesn’t really fit into the RB school at all
Luka Sucic (19): The most elegant kicker in the Salzburg squad doesn’t really fit into the Red Bull school in terms of his playing style. The playmaker is not particularly good at sprinting and certainly not a pressing monster. But the left foot can do everything with the ball, his shooting technique is breathtaking. In Salzburg, Sucic has been as good as a seed in the midfield diamond since this season, and the Croatian national team can also rub their hands in the medium term. In his four appearances for the U21s so far, the native of Linz has scored a goal in every game.
Brenden Aaronson (21): The American is the prototype of an offensive player from RB, even though he wasn’t trained there. A year ago, the young midfielder came to Salzburg from the MLS club Philadelphia Union, where he became a regular with practically no adjustment period, probably thanks to his compatriot, ex-Salzburg coach Jesse Marsch. Even if his statistics can be improved this season, Aaronson is also a regular starter in the Mozartstadt team under Marsch successor Matthias Jaissle. There have long been interested parties from Europe’s top leagues, but Salzburg are in no hurry to sell the 18-time US international.
18 goals in 14 games for Liefering – and a stature like Haaland
Benjamin Sesko (18): Not a few see the next Erling Haaland in the teenager from Slovenia, the physical parallels between the two can hardly be denied. Like Haaland, Sesko is 1.94 meters tall, has tremendous dynamism and a direct pull to the goal. His “journeyman’s test” against the center forward in spring 2021 when he scored 18 goals in 14 league games for Salzburg’s farm team FC Liefering in Austria’s second division. The master’s exam is still pending. In the first team, the 18-year-old is still hanging between the bench and the starting XI, also due to a few muscle injuries, but his final breakthrough is probably only a matter of time.
