OSLA, women and work: an open challenge
OSLA, San Marino Organization of Entrepreneurs, on the occasion of 8 March, underlines the importance of the role of women in the world of work; many studies have shown that their role has a significant impact on the development and growth of a country.
Unfortunately, inequalities still exist which concern first of all participation in the labor market, the achievement of a harmonious balance between work and private life, the representation of women in important corporate and managerial positions and the distribution of family care work.
The legal peer provides that all women have the right to access any job in principle of conditions compared to men and that they can count on the same treatment, not only economic but also in opportunities for professional growth, also guaranteeing their treatment terms of role within of the family and the fundamental community.
As an employers’ association, OSLA is working, in concert with the competent Secretariats of State, on the introduction of measures capable of facilitating the participation of women in the world of work and in particular in the world of work. Today there are still concrete obstacles for women to do business on their own, in particular for mothers who do not always find the necessary support to reconcile working life, especially as entrepreneurs, with family commitments.
Together with the Secretariat of State with responsibility for the Family, an overall reform of the legislation in support of the family is being carried out. In this context, OSLA has requested interventions to simplify the life of more maternity workers and opportunities for self-employed workers and entrepreneurs in pregnancy and during the first years of their child’s life.
Creating the conditions for the active participation of women in the business world cannot be seen as a cost but as an investment capable of freeing up energy and resources for the country’s economic development. It is no coincidence that the most advanced economic systems are precisely those in which women find greater participation both in the world of work as cometricians and as entrepreneurs, as well as as figures of responsibility in the key roles of administrations.
OSLA is also proud to be able to represent a growing number of female entrepreneurs, not only among its members but also within its management bodies.
Aware that there is still a lot to do to allow women to participate fully in the world, OS ci LA economic will continue to support female entrepreneurship and help them to undertake a cultural path and reforms in this sense, convinced that creativity and tenacity which often characterizes women entrepreneurs is a resource for the whole country.
