It took almost an hour to reopen the highway. Shortly after 6:34 p.m., the North-West Interdepartmental Roads Directorate chose to close the A84 in the direction Rennes-Caento the height of Villers-Bocage South of Caen (Calvados). In question a accident involving heavy weight.
A diversion in place
At this time when traffic is normally heavy, strong slowdowns were recorded. A diversion has been set up from interchange no. 43 via the D6, then the D6A then the RD675 to interchange no. 45 where users can find the A84.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m., the road was cleared again thanks to the intervention of Dirno agents. The diversion could be lifted. Traffic then became more fluid again. Up to 2 km of traffic jams had been observed.
