Tesla Model Y Police Car joins Swiss EV patrol fleet
The Tesla Model Y police car will become part of the electric vehicle or EV patrol fleet of St. Gallen, Switzerland.

According to a news report by tesla north, The St. Gallen Police Headquarters in Switzerland has also already introduced the electric vehicle manufacturer’s electric crossover SUV as part of its ongoing electrification project.
It’s worth noting that the Tesla Model Y SUV has already been adopted by other police departments in different parts of the world to replace their gas-powered patrol cars.
Tesla’s crossover SUV is recognized by many police departments for its numerous advantages over fuel-powered vehicles, such as: B. the lower maintenance costs and reliability. Not to mention that going electric is also best for the environment.

On top of that, it is actually not the first rodeo in Switzerland to electrify its police patrol cars. In fact, the Swiss Confederation has already used the Tesla Model X as a police fleet in the city of Basel.
Tesla Model Y police car in St. Gallen, Switzerland
A Reddit The user named habasch91 has posted a photo of what appears to be the very first Tesla Model Y police car from the St. Gallen police department.
Tesla North noted in the same report that the city of St. Gallen is in north-eastern Switzerland, which is just an hour away from the country’s largest city, Zurich. It is also near the border between Switzerland and Austria.

The Model Y police car flaunts its bright orange stickers, which also identify it as a “Polizee” vehicle, the Swiss term for police. The rest of the vehicle is painted in white color. It also has a siren provision on the roof.

Gallen Police Headquarters Electrification
According to a press release from hyundai, The St. Gallen Police Headquarters in Switzerland initially purchased a total of 13 new Kona electric vehicles to electrify their existing patrol fleet.
The all-new Tesla Model Y police car joins the Hyundai Kona EV in the city police’s growing electric fleet.
Interestingly, Tesla’s flagship sedan, the Model 3, was also named Switzerland’s best-selling car in 2021.
