As for Regional 1, the weekend was good for the agglomeration of Caen (Calvados) a lower rung. Verson and Hérouville have done the work on the outside to stay at the top of their standings. Douvres, Ifs and Bourguébus reassured themselves after frustrating results in the previous weeks.
GROUP A
Only two teams from the agglomeration played in group A this weekend, Ouistreham being exempted.
On Saturday evening, Verson won 4-1 at Saint-Pair thanks to goals from Florian Bouaziz, Etienne Marie and a brace from Michael Zami. “It’s a great collective performance outside on a difficult ground, against a team that is never easy to play, Nicolas Vrel succeeded after the meeting. The boys were able to respond to the game plan and put the ingredients together to score four away goals. Their pay in effort and willingness to score was rewarded. Our efficiency in the second half came after our control over the first half. The only regret is to have conceded this goal. Congratulations to my group and congratulations to the three senior teams for this triple victory”.
This victory allows the Versonnais to cling to the leader Equeurdrevillais, winner 3-1 on the ground of Ouest Cotentin this Sunday March 6th. “We are continuing our journey without worrying about Equeurdreville, the priority is to win match after match. We must confirm this victory on Saturday at home.
Ifs also managed to come back from the Channel with the three points, thanks to a much more tense success. Ifois coach Kevin Leroux at the debrief:
It’s a great victory against a team that is out of place, in an extraordinary atmosphere with an exceptional kop for the regional level. Unfortunately, one of our players was the victim of racism from an isolated spectator on the edge of the field, it’s already the second time this season, it’s appalling and unacceptable. Despite the context, we manage to lead 3-1 at half-time where we control the party with many chances in our favor. The second period was much more complicated. On one surface seen our current demons redo. But we managed to hold the victory and that remains the main thing.
The Ifois have to quickly move on to get as far away as possible from the red zone: “it’s up to us to erase our mistakes to continue this new series. We will have a big test next week when we host Avranches”.
Verson, with a game lead, is second, two lengths behind Equeurdreville. He replaces himself in 7ᵉ place in the standings but only has a two-point lead over the twelfth. Important to remember that in this same classification, some teams have four games less than others!

GROUP B
In pool B, the big winner of the weekend is once again Hérouville. By winning 3-0 at Falaise thanks to a double from Mathieu Lepont and a goal from Rhalid Ramdam, Morgan Ranguet’s troops took two points from Villers Houlgate, who had to settle for a point against Lisieux ( 1-1). The Hérouvillais are more than ever the leader of Regional 2.
A notch lower in the standings, Bretteville failed to follow up and lost to the youth of Bourguébus 3-2. Led 2-0, the Brettevillais had done the hardest part by coming back to the score, but ended up losing at the end of the game on Nouet’s second achievement. Nicolas Duhaze scored both goals for Bretteville. Laforge in the first minute and Nouet twice allowed the locals to win for the first time at home. A victory savored by the coach at the end of the match: “This first victory for us does a lot of good. On a cru that as against Flers, Falaise, Hérouville, we were not going to keep our advantage, but ultimately we were. As usual, the young people were irreproachable in their excess of energy, we managed to play the game so I’m very happy”. Bourguébus still has some way to go but will have to rely on this game for the rest of the season. “On a reminder of work, it is especially necessary to channel the young people. All our future matches will be cup matches.” Next meeting in a week for the blues and reds with the Lisieux reception on Sunday 13 March.
Dover also secured against the reserve of ASPTT Caen. Eric Fouda’s men won two goals to one thanks to goals from Selim Batbout and Yacine Azdad. Traoré had scored for the PTT. The Douvres staff explained after the match:
We were looking for a balance that we had lost for a few games due to the absence of two important injured players in our system. After several tries, we found this balance. We were more interesting in the possession of the ball and we were good in our quick attacks. We could have taken cover earlier but, despite everything, thanks to our solidarity, our state of mind, we managed to keep this result. I think our victory is deserved.
Caen coach Samuel Desgrippes was logically disappointed: “This match resembles those we lost, we have the feeling of playing a good match, of playing well but once again, we are punished for our mistakes. As we are not effective on our occasions, on a feeling of frustration which is recurrent”. These three points allow the Douvrais to regain fourth place and get closer to the podium. The postal workers are seventh and stagnate in the middle of the ranking
