A12, truck hits the information panel of a tunnel: nine kilometers of queue between Recco and Genoa
Genoa – The section – on the A12 Genoa-Sestri Levante motorway – has been reopened included between Recco and Genova Nervi, towards Genova. It had been closed due to an accident in which the body of a truck hit a luminous information panel of the Monte Castelletti tunnel, causing it to collapse.
At the moment (6.20 pm), along the route 9 kilometers of queue are indicated.
The accident
There are no injuries, but the tunnel has taken damage. The temporary closure of the tunnel, started just before 2 pm, allowed the operators to proceed with the checks and the safety of the tunnel.
Users heading towards Genoa, after the Recco exit, are advised to take the ordinary road system to return to the motorway at Genova Nervi. For long journeys from Livorno, follow the A15 Parma-La Spezia, merge onto the A1 Milan-Naples towards Milan, continue on the A21 Turin-Piacenza towards Turin and then take the A7 Milan-Genoa towards Genoa.
