Verona unleashed, against the Blue Star comes the tenth victory in a row
Tenth consecutive victory for Tezenis Verona. In Frosinone the Gialloblù find success at the end of a reopened match, in the second half by the Stella Azzurra. It ends 65-68 after the first two halves closed with an 11-point advantage for the Gialloblù (26-37).
Final played point by point with the boys from Ramagli who reject the last attempts of the Blue Star, capable of reaching -2 with one minute from the end.
The Gialloblù conquer the success that is worth the second place, with the simultaneous defeat of Ravenna, before the stop for the Final Eight of the Italian Cup.
Tezenis breaks at the opening which immediately goes to 0 to 6. The response of the Blue Star is not long in coming (5-6) with Barbante and Nikolic. Tezenis returns to the rhythm. The baskets of Johnson and Candussano build the new break (7-11) and with the turnover of Raspino, Verona builds the new possession which is worth 7-14. On the Rosselli-Johnson axis, Tezenis builds the most spectacular action of the first half and shortly after comes the maximum advantage (9-19), first with Casarin’s triple and then with Udom’s basket (9-21). The first quarter ends at 12-23.
U dom and Casarin find precious points that have the double-digit advantage for Tezen in the first minutes of the second quarter. The star tries to get closer (21-28) with Marcius’ basket, after an offensive rebound, and Nikolic’s triple who takes advantage of the new possession after Grant’s 24 ” infraction. After coach Ramagli’s time out, Pini’s free is followed by a new triple from Nikolic (24-29). Tezenis finds defensive intensity, Johnson finds the way to the basket twice consecutively (24-33). Verona escapes again in the final (26-37) ends with 11 points ahead.
Fixed point for a minute and a half at the opening of the second half. Caroti takes care of the score, with the first points of the race achieved from long distance. Marcius finds the first basket (54-57) and after Spanghero’s mistake it is the yellow-blue defense that gets into the chair by stopping the hosts’ attack. Pini puts the first points but it is Raspino’s triple that puts the two teams back even closer (57-59). A Pini is whistled for the fifth foul, and Marcius scores 1 on 2 from the line (58-59). Rosselli’s triple unlocks the Gialloblù attack (58-62) and after Raspino’s lost ball, Caroti’s one arrives (58-65). D’Ercole finds the basket from long distance, Candussi puts in two precious points; Tezenis wins, ends at 65-68.
