Thousands of neighborhoods reported – oesterreich.ORF.at
This was reported by the Ministry of the Interior after a week and a half of Russia’s war of aggression against its neighboring country through aid in and from Austria. More aid transports are scheduled to start next week. “I would like to thank the federal states, the municipalities and the civil and blue light organizations for the excellent cooperation. Be it in the provision of quarters or the coordination of aid deliveries – outstanding work is being done here these days,” said Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP).
“The communities, the community association – but also the many civil aid organizations such as Caritas, Volkshilfe, the Red Cross, the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund and many other initiatives have impressively shown what they are capable of doing in the last week,” says Karner .
Karner: “Enormous solidarity” and “quick help”
Transitional quarters were put into operation together with the federal states. The Ministry of the Interior is responsible for coordinating the offers for accommodation. “The Austrians not only show enormous solidarity with the people from Ukraine, but above all offer urgently needed and quick help,” said Karner.
Private neighborhoods can be announced at the e-mail address [email protected]. So far, around 3,000 registrations have been received, from rooms in residential buildings to empty houses and hotel rooms, the offers range from two to 30 or even more places per unit. Landlords receive payment for this as part of the basic service. One can currently assume around 12,000 places in accommodation from the pool neighborhood district, it said on Sunday.

Appeal to the Landlords Association
On Saturday, the President of the Austrian Owners’ and Federal Landlords’ Association called on all landlords in Austria who have vacant living space to rent, to let them to families or mothers with children from the Ukraine. The rent payments are secured, Günter Moser emphasized to the APA. Apartments are being sought all over Austria, but brokerage payments and commissions are not accepted, says Moser. “With our appeal, an opportunity should be created for these families or mothers with children to enable decent living in peace,” explained the association president.
