The message is for António Costa, to whom Miguel Albuquerque will request an audience soon after taking office in the new government of the Republic, but for constructive dialogues in which Madeira’s problems can be clarified.
The “rise in interest rates will bring difficulties and put the country in a complicated situation”, added to the forecast of an increase in energy costs, which densify the route traced by Miguel Albuquerque.
Therefore, “Portugal has only one path: to grow economically and invest in the development of its economy. There is no other solution and the prime minister has someone to understand that”.
“We are already more than 40 years in autonomy and it is time for Lisbon to end centralism”, he referred to Albuquerque again, stressing that “we are in a global economy and it is time to integrate. Who doesn’t understand this, and it’s good that the path first stays this”
“We should have cryptocurrency funds here in Madeira but we are waiting for a resolution from the Bank of Portugal. But today’s world does not wait for this gray anachrony of the 19th century”, he gave as an example.
“Shortly after this government takes office, I will ask the prime minister for a hearing for a two-way dialogue. If it’s for a dialogue of the deaf, I won’t waste time,” as he shared with congressmen.
