Genoa, a swim in the sea of Quinto against violence against women
Great success for the swim in Quinto with the organization of Freeswimmer and Società Nazionale Salvamento
Genoa – Sixty “crazy” (as they called themselves) swam this morning in front of the Naval League of Quinto to say yet another no to violence against women. The Pink Swimmingtreffen, staged today in Genoa, had an unexpected success. On the eve of Women’s Day Freeswimmer and Società Salvamento Nervi wanted to shout to the world, in their own way, “stop violence against women”. In March, swimming in the sea is not an undertaking for everyone, nor is going out on the wet shore. But the closure of the pools in the era covid has attracted more and more people to swimming in open water in any weather and any temperature.
From 11 to 12 sixty swimmers (almost all in costume, without wetsuits) have splashed in the waters of Quinto to have fun, be together and reaffirm that women should not be touched. Everyone with a red mustache on their cheeks and a pink bracelet spent an hour in the sea. Then all to dry and warm up with mulled wine prepared by the deus ex machina of the Davide Sanguineti event “a great satisfaction, so cold, but also a great desire to get together. 50 percent of the participants came mainly from Lombardy, Milan and Brianza above all.
Confirm that swimming in the sea is increasingly popular even in winter and what a message I liked. The best moment was naturally the “third time”: drinking all together. But also and above all to hand over the proceeds to the UDI (Union of Italian Women) to give our small contribution to a social scourge that unfortunately cannot be eradicated. “
