“Pressure did not matter in Sweden’s mistake”
Breen twice buried his Ford Puma Rally1 in the snow in the second stage. The second error forced him out of the opening day, but he was back to land a single point from Wolf Power Stage on Sunday.
That result was in direct contrast to his team debut in Rallye Monte-Carlo, where he finished third behind winning teammate Sébastien Loeb and Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Sébastien Ogier.
“It was a tough rally,” said Breen. “It was pretty good over on Friday in terms of results, but we learned a lot about the car during the rest of the event.”

Asked about the pressure to lead the team, Breen said: “I have never thought so much about being honest. Most pressure for me was the Thursday before Monte. There was so much expectation before the rally.
“I do not think [leading the team] put more pressure on this rally. As I said, it was just a very small mistake and in this rally, if you are first on the road, you pay a huge price for it. “
Breen added that he is now looking forward to next month’s Croatia Rally (April 21-24).
“We’m pretty lucky we had a pretty dry Monte,” he said. “When I go back to the asphalt again, there is a lot that I am interested in testing for that rally. There is a lot of positive to look forward to.”
