Salzburg: State farmer becomes LK Vice President | farm newspaper
“This mid-term solution was already agreed after the 2020 Chamber of Agriculture elections and has now been implemented,” said the Farmers’ Association state chairman and LK President Rupert Quehenberger, who thanked Hölzl for her tireless commitment to Salzburg’s farmers over a total of 33 years. “At the same time, I am pleased to have Claudia Entleitner, an equally committed Vice President at my side in the future.”
According to Quehenberger, Elisabeth Hölzl has always placed the value of farm products in the foreground. “Showing people where their food comes from, how it is made and focusing on its high quality is the basis for making them aware of the value of our food again”. Even at his own farm with “holidays on the farm”, Hölzl never tired of emphasizing the need for cooperation between agriculture and tourism, Quehenberger praised Hölzl’s merits.
With immediate effect, Claudia Entleitner is Vice-President of the LK Salzburg. The Piesendorf native has also been Salzburg’s state farmer since October 2019 and before that she made a name for herself as a local farmer in Piesendorf, on the district committee of the BBK Pinzgau, as a district farmer and as a councilor for agriculture and chair of the family, law and tax committee. Entleitner thanked them for the trust placed in them. In the new office, she will work to preserve small-scale agriculture and to ensure practicable framework conditions for this. Another focus is the work for the young farmers. Entleitner’s declared goal: “To get them excited about working in advocacy again. Just sitting at home and whining doesn’t help. Who could represent our interests better than we ourselves,” says Entleitner
