Portugal granted 2,970 visas to Cape Verdean students this school year
António Albuquerque Moniz advanced the data on the day that one of Cape Verdean students studies, in the capital, again against the delays, refusals and information from the Embassy of Portugal in the granting of visible images for the lack of European country, asking, for that more respect.
The ambassador started by pointing out that the demonstration is a right in Cape Verde – but he preferred to indicate the visa applications of Cape Verdean students.
In the academic year 2021/2022, he said, the consular section of the Portuguese embassy in the city of Praia has already allocated 2,970 study visas.
“I spoke yesterday [quinta-feira] with the Minister of Education of Cape Verde [Amadeu Cruz] on the subject did not tell me that there were any suggestions from students regarding visas”, stressed the diplomat.
António Moniz said that the only pending requests at the moment are part of a list that was delivered approximately two weeks ago.
Last year, after the deployment of resistances, the advance in the previous year had been 35%, but to be guaranteed this use is much lower, taking into account that the procedures are much smaller. mobility agreement in the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP).
“We are already meeting the spirit of the agreement and we are about to make the visa part easier. Therefore, the fees [de indeferimentos] going to go down,” he noted, without, however, specifying the level of refusals at this time.
The ambassador also referred that Portugal will make changes to the foreign law “within months” and will also reflect what is in accordance with the CPLP, regarding visa facilitation in the Portuguese-speaking community.
The agreement was signed at the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the CPLP, in July 2021, in Luanda, and has already been ratified by five countries – Mozambique, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe, Portugal and Guinea-Bissau -. the process nearing completion in Brazil.
On how students complain of lack of information the ambassador to Lusa that the well-documented visas at the embassy instruct the process explicit on all platforms as platforms are.

The ambassador said he understood the dissatisfaction of many students because of the refusal of the study, but people recalled that they allowed the request to be requested or repeated.
Practically every day, there are queues of students outside the Portuguese embassy in Praia, to deliver cases or to know the results of requests.
