Two drug drivers caught, one driving the wrong way
timeline
On Sunday evening, police officers stopped a wrong-way driver on the Tauernautobahn at the Eben-Nord rest stop (Pongau). The 21-year-old Pongauer could not produce a driver’s license. A drug test was positive – as with a 19-year-old who was pulled out of circulation in Wals (Flachgau).
During the control in Eben, two vehicle occupants, in addition to the driver, behaved “uncooperatively” towards the officers who intervened, according to the police official report. A breathalyser test on the 21-year-old driver showed a blood alcohol level of 0.16. A drug test was also positive. The suspect was brought before a medical officer. Investigators said he was unfit to drive. The 21-year-old is now being reported to the public prosecutor’s office and the district administration for several crimes.
Conspicuous driving, consumption of several drugs
A 19-year-old driver caught the attention of a police patrol in Wals-Siezenheim on Sunday evening – because of his unsafe driving style. The officials stopped the Flachgauer. The alcohol test showed 0.1 per thousand. A subsequent drug test was also positive in several respects – for THC, cocaine, amphetamines and other substances. In this case, too, a medical officer determined that he was unfit to drive. The police forbade the young man to continue driving. He is also reported to the public prosecutor’s office and the district authority.
