Rental prices of houses in Portugal rose 0.7% in February
At the end of February, renting a house in Portugal had a cost of 10.9 euros per square meter, which represents an increase of 0.7% in prices compared to the previous month, announced the real estate portal Idealista in its monthly report that is based on the offer published by advertisers on the platform.
Showing variations in terms of the region, the prices of houses for rent fell in the Algarve (-1.5%), Alentejo (-1.1%) and the Autonomous Region of Madeira (-0.4%). In the opposite direction, prices rose in the Autonomous Region of the Azores (1.6%), Lisbon Metropolitan Area (1.4%), Center (1.1%) and North (0.5%). In terms of cost, the Lisbon Metropolitan Area leads the table with 12.6 euros per square meter, while the Center is in the opposite direction, with 6.6 euros per square meter.
As for the divergence of prices in the districts, there was an island in Vila Real (-3.6%), Viana do Castelo (-1.8%) and Faro (-1.5%) and Santarém (-1 .5%), Aveiro (-0.8%), Castelo Branco (-0.7%), Setúbal (-0.4%), Madeira Island (-0.4%) and Leiria (-0.2 %). In climbing, Coimbra, Coimbra (6.4%), Viseu (3.1%), Lisbon São Miguel (1.7%) and Porto 5%).
In the Top3 of the most found districts is Lisbon (13 euros/m2), followed by Porto (10.1 euros/m2) and Faro (9.8 euros/m2). On the other hand, Vila Real (4.5 euros/m2), Viseu (5 euros/m2), Santarém (5.2 euros/m2) Castelo Branco (5.8 euros/m2) and Viana do Castelo (6.2 euros/m2) proved to be the most economical.

By district, in the last month of February, the rental price dropped only in four capital cities – Aveiro (-3.4%), Santarém (-1.2%), Viana do Castelo (-0.6%) and Leiria (-0.1%) – and rose in nine – Coimbra (8.2%), Lisbon (1.9%), Braga (1.8%), Funchal (1.7%), Setúbal (1, 7%), Castelo Branco (0.6%), Porto (0.6%), Viseu (0.5%) and Faro (0.1%).
Lisbon remains the most expensive capital city in the district, costing an average of 13.8 euros per square meter, followed by Porto (11 euros/m2) and Funchal (9.8 euros/m2). The cheapest are Castelo Branco (5 euros/m2), Santarém (5.3 euros/m2), Viseu (5.3 euros/m2), Viana do Castelo (5.9 euros/m2) and Leiria (6 euros ) /m2).
