les Agglos de Périgueux, Brive et Tulle veulent améliorer la liaison SNCF avec Bordeaux
In order to convince the SNCF that their future also depends on a shorter journey time with Bordeaux – one hour from Tulle, 45 minutes from Brive and 25 minutes from Périgueux -, the three intermunicipal authorities have jointly ordered a ” study of technical and economic remuneration for the improvement” of this service. Providers had until January 21 to make themselves known.
The service provider will have to sift through “this strategic line with a six-pointed star from Brive, and four-pointed from Périgueux”. Investments, travel times, regularity, etc. will be detailed from the 1980s to the present day.
“political decision”
The service provider will also list the actions to improve the line already programmed and will propose others. A global provisional assessment, both socio-economic and environmental, will be drawn up. Ultimately, “a short, medium and long-term action plan” will be proposed, with “technical and political arguments”. “A renovation of such magnitude will be a political decision,” assured last year, the vice-president of Grand Périgueux in charge of mobility, Olivier Georgiades.
