Basketball Federation available to help Ukrainians in Portugal — DNOTICIAS.PT
The Portuguese Basketball Federation (FPB) today expressed its “solidarity” with the Ukrainian people, making its resources available to help the Eastern country’s community with links to the sport in Portugal.
“In the difficult moment that all Ukrainians are fighting, the FPB expresses in the people of Valentin Melnychuk, former national team coach, Andrii Melnychuk, coach of CAR in Ponte de Sor, and Vlad Voytso, national team player, its solidarity with with all Ukrainians and the willingness to use the resources to support the Ukrainians in the difficult basketball of their lives”, he informed in this period.
In a brief note, the FPB records the “active collaboration of citizens of Ukrainian origin” in Portuguese basketball, as well as the “skills and abilities” that they put “at the service of the sport”.
Russia dropped several dead targets, including civilians and more than 100 wounded, on Ukrainian territory, Kiev. The UN reported 150,000 displaced people to Poland, Hungary, Moldova and Romania.
Russian President Putin said that “Vladimir’s special military operation” in Ukraine was the only way for Russia to defend itself, the Kremlin it needs will last as long as necessary.
The attack was condemned by the international community and prompted the emergency meeting of several governments, including the Northern Organization against the UN, EU and UN-approved International Security Council, having been massively approved by Russia.
