The Girondins de Bordeaux still conceded a draw for David Guion’s second on the Bordeaux bench. While the FCGB had drawn against Monaco last week, it was this time against Clermont that Bordeaux failed to win with a draw 1 but everywhere. The coach of the club with the scapular spoke after the match, is satisfied with the face of his troops but disappointed with this draw, while Bordeaux is still far from being saved in Ligue 1.
Guion’s reaction
“If there was a winner on points, Bordeaux deserved to win. But for that, they should have shown more calm, lucidity in the finishing area to concretize our situations. We were solid, well organized but on our opportunities, but on a lack of lucidity. It is played on the technical aspect, the application. (…) Outside, we do not have 50 situations: we had 4-5 in the first half; two or three in the second. You have to be concentrated, like the set pieces. We had five of them: we shoot two very well, we score and we hit the other three on the ground “When you see our quality on this, it’s a weapon. It’s a point that keeps the clock ticking, but we came to win and I would have liked us to do so given our efforts, investment at all levels. We conceded very few situations, we tactically hampered them. Big teams suffered here. Compared to Monaco, we went up a notch, we didn’t retreated. There is still work to do but I think we are on the right track,” said Guion, who hopes his men will take the three points next week against Troyes in a game of fear.
