Motus Liberi: “Delicate days for politics: once again demonstrated that dialogue is fundamental”
The work of the council of the past few days has proved to be full of content and important topics. After the appointments in the bodies of the judiciary following the recent reform, the draft law introducing provisions to implement guarantees and efficiency in the criminal trial was examined and approved. This is a much awaited provision by the operators of the sector, which also thanks to the introduction of some amendments, intervenes to fill regulatory gaps that have long been in need of attention. Another topic that he held in recent days requires an intervention: the freedom of the press, a real “thermometer” of the degree of democracy of a state, which must however dictate clear and valid rules for all, must always be guaranteed and respected. We express great satisfaction for the intense work and commitment shown by our council group, always aimed at pursuing the interest of the Party in enacting measures that see the interests of the community protected. The intense activity of the councils has not in any case diverted our attention from the international crisis deriving from the conflict in Ukraine, unfortunately in progress for many years with thousands of thousands of victims, which has seen a sharp escalation in recent days. We express great concern for the consequences that this conflict could derive, especially at the humanitarian level but also from an economic point of view. The use of force is never the solution, which is why we renew the call for a ceasefire and invite the parties to reopen a dialogue aimed at resolving the conflict. We express our full solidarity with the affected civilian populations, hoping that diplomacy will soon put an end to the war in the name of the universal interest in maintaining peace and harmony among peoples, which however implies respect for a fundamental concept of international law: the agreements must be respected, by every party involved. The difficulties of the pandemic, which in our context still see us at the forefront of working towards the solidarity of the discriminating instrument of the Green Pass, should remind us of the value of discrimination and the importance of working together for the privileges of the common interest, the instrument of dialogue with respect to that of contrast.
