G3, vests, helmets and grenades
Portugal will send military equipment to Ukraine, namely G3 rifles, vests, helmets or grenades, the Ministry of National Defense announced this Saturday. In a note sent to newsrooms about support for Ukraine, the ministry says that, “at the request of the Ukrainian authorities, Portugal will provide military equipment”.
The list includes “helmet vests, night vision goggles, grenades and ammunition of different calibers, media protectors, complete materials, repeaters, protectors and complete enumerations of the Ministry of National Defense and G3 automatic rifles”.
Belgium, the Netherlands, France and the Czech Republic, among others, also announce deliveries of weapons and fuel to Ukrainian forces, responding to Kiev’s requests for help.
Berlin that Germany had delivered “as soon as possible” Ukraine rocket launcher and 500 surface-to-air of the announced type sting to help the country defend itself from Russian military invasion, a decision that was welcomed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The German government also announced the sending to Ukraine of 14 armored vehicles, as well as 10,000 tons of fuel, which will be delivered “via Poland”.
“European defense is in action to facilitate Ukraine, (node) to facilitate the delivery of the military,” Charles Michel, president of the European Council (a body that helps member states) said on Twitter.
Russia dropped several dead targets, including civilians and more than 100 wounded, on Ukrainian territory, Kiev. The UN reported 150,000 displaced people to Poland, Hungary, Moldova and Romania.
Russian President Putin said that “Vladimir’s special military operation” in Ukraine was the only way for Russia to defend itself, the Kremlin it needs will last as long as necessary.
The attack was condemned by the international community and prompted the emergency meeting of several governments, including the Northern Organization against the UN, EU and UN-approved International Security Council, having been massively approved by Russia.
