“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine states that Ukraine has closed the maritime area in the north-western part of the Black Sea since February 24 to repel the armed aggression of the Russian Federation from the maritime region,” the Foreign Ministry said.
The purpose of closing the area is to protect all civilian vessels from threats posed by criminal activity of the aggressor state and to create conditions for the activities of the Ukrainian Navy to respond to the illegal right in the territorial waters of Ukraine of Russian Navy ships that launched missile strikes on sovereign territory. Ukraine, including among civilian objects that lead to destruction and casualties among the civilian population.
